About Gitrove
Gitrove is built and run by one developer, for developers who want to find interesting people to follow on GitHub.

Why I built this
I built Gitrove out of frustration with GitHub Explore, which I used daily to discover new repositories and developers doing real work. I like GitHub because there’s no showmanship so my feed is not filled with influencers trying to sell me something, it gave me a real signal. But GitHub has… reliability issues... the Explore and Trending pages frequently break and I’m not convinced it’s actually showing all activity in my network.
I looked for an alternative and found none, so I built it myself.
How the data works
- Rankings come from the public GH Archive event stream, refreshed once a day. Nothing is scraped from private sources.
- Signing in with GitHub requests one read-only scope, your email address. No repository access, no code changes.
- Pro is billed in USD through Stripe. You can cancel, and delete your account and its data, from the account page at any time.
